Meet our Senior Advocacy Leadership Team also known as SALT! This group of dedicated older adult volunteers meets weekly to connect and organize advocacy projects to create an age-friendly community on the Lower East Side. During this time of social distancing, SALT has maintained connections with each other by continuing their weekly meetings through conference calls, staying active by sharing concerns, resources to use during COVID-19, and discussing how the pandemic has affected more vulnerable communities.
SALT had been planning an inter-generational Arbor Day activity in Seward Park, and while unfortunately we cannot all gather there together this year they created a great flyer on the trees in Seward Park as a way to celebrate and that our entire community can use, whether from home or while taking a walk in the park. We are so fortunate to have this wonderful group of seniors who continues to support one another and the wider community during this difficult time.
