Every Friday morning, our Preschool Summer Session Director, Mickey Bronstein takes her preschoolers to the Weinberg Senior Center for Inter-generational Chesed Day. Today, the seniors and preschoolers made shortcake pops to give to the porters to thank them for all they do (above).
Mickey says, “The idea is to foster a strong sense of community within Many Cantor, and to come together with different programs in the building to implement the Jewish concepts of Chesed (acts of kindness) and Tikkun Olam (repairing the world). Our hope is that as the summer goes on, our relationship with the seniors and our projects will continue to evolve.”
The summer session students will be engaging in different community service projects with the seniors ranging from making cards for the sick, a cooking project to make food for a pantry, making signs for an animal shelter, and more. And we can look forward to more adorable photos of the youngest and oldest members of our community working together for a better world.
