MCC Changemakers

Our nationally recognized volunteer initiative creates meaningful short-term, long-term, and occasional volunteer opportunities that meet the strategic needs of our programs while providing individuals a chance to give back and engage with their community. It is a great first step to getting involved.

Support Your Community: Now Until December 12th

NON-PERISHABLE FOOD DONATIONS

Drop off in the MCC Lobby

Help vulnerable New Yorkers affected by federal cuts to SNAP by dropping off donations in the MCC Lobby or ordering through our Amazon Wishlist.

What to Know:

  • All food should be new, unopened, and not past the expiration date. Cans should be pop-top only.
  • If you’d like to coordinate a larger donation drop-off or get your company involved, please contact dscher@mannycantor.org. 

Items Needed: 

  • Rice
  • Pasta and/or pasta sauce
  • Boxed mac and cheese/corn bread, or stuffing mixes
  • Canned beans, vegetables, and fruit with pop-tops
  • Shelf-stable milk or condensed milk
  • Ramen (just add water)
  • Tuna fish or chicken (in pouch)
  • Apple sauce
  • Snack food (e.g., chips, cookies, Goldfish®, etc.)
  • FreshDirect reusable bags or similar

COAT AND WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE

Drop off at ReLoved Boutique in 1R. Pickup unavailable. 

We are currently looking for cold-weather donations to keep families warm this fall and winter.

What to Know:

  • Items must be in new or good condition (no rips, stains, missing buttons, or broken zippers) 

Items Needed: 

  • Coats and jackets 
  • Gloves and winter hats 
  • Winter clothing 

HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE 

Drop-off at MCC Fitness, 5th Floor

Help make the holidays brighter for children in our community by donating new, unopened, and unwrapped toys for ages 0 to 14. You can also purchase items via our Amazon Wishlist

GIFT CARD DONATIONS

Visa, Target, and local grocery store gift cards can go a long way in giving someone the flexibility they need. Reach out to dscher@mannycantor.org to coordinate donations from yourself, company, or organization.

Volunteer Opportunities
