Manny Cantor Center Code of Conduct

Manny Cantor Center (MCC) reserves the right to suspend or revoke membership, space access, and/or program attendance privileges to clients whose behavior is deemed inappropriate or detrimental to the well-being of MCC, its members, program participants, or staff. Failure to comply with a suspension may result in legal action.

Weapons or items deemed unsafe are not allowed inside MCC.

Drug use, including marijuana, is not allowed unless used with a prescription.  Alcohol use is strictly prohibited unless served by MCC for an event. Smoking or vaping is not permitted inside MCC at any time.

Bikes and scooters of any kind cannot be stored within MCC at any time. An allowed exception is scooters for children under five who are enrolled in a full-day school program at MCC.

While trained service dogs are permitted, support animals and pets are not allowed in the building at any time.

Boisterous behavior, roughhousing, and/or profane language threats or gestures are not permitted at MCC.

Abusive treatment of members, program participants, and/or staff members shall not be tolerated under any condition.

Overt or subtle forms of harassment (physical, verbal, digital, or written) of any kind including unwelcome attention, or harassment based on race, nation of origin/ethnicity, religion, color, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability/disability status, or membership in any other group shall not be tolerated and will be directly addressed.

Theft of MCC/EA property or funds, or another member’s or guest’s property will not be tolerated and may be reported to law enforcement.

Disregard for safety rules and regulations, or for the safety of another person(s) will not be tolerated and will be addressed immediately.

All staff, members, guests, and visitors must sign in at our security desk when entering the building for the safety of our community. Misrepresenting your identity or intended destination is in direct violation of our code of conduct.

MCC aspires to create an environment where staff, members, and guests feel safe to speak about incidents of harassment, and MCC aims to protect those community members who speak out.

Be Kind and Courteous
We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

No Hate Speech or Bullying

Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, or identity will not be tolerated.

No Promotions or Spam
Give more than you take to our community. Self-promotion, spam, and irrelevant links aren’t allowed.

Respect Everyone’s Privacy
Being part of the MCC Community requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make our community great, but may also be sensitive and private. Sharing personal information other than your own is not permitted.

Consent Is Required
MCC Community Members and Guests may not photograph, film, record audio of, or post images or likenesses of other members, staff, or guests without their authorized consent. MCC Members and staff should not contact one another via social media without both parties consent.

Any violation to the Code of Conduct will result in being banned from MCC’s social channels.

 

Personal Property and Storage

MCC is not responsible for lost personal belongings, including but not limited to strollers stored in our lobby, coats, jackets, or any other personal items. If you are missing something, please check our Lost and Found at the lobby security desk.

Bikes, adult scooters, and motorized vehicles of any kind are not permitted inside Manny Cantor Center at any time.

Children’s strollers and scooters are permitted in the lobby and designated storage area only. Strollers and children’s scooters are permitted for temporary parking of fewer than 15 minutes only. Long-term stroller parking exceptions may be made at the discretion of our Early Childhood staff. Manny Cantor Center is not responsible for monitoring parked or stored strollers. Strollers parking is a courtesy, and Manny Cantor Center is not responsible for items lost or stolen, including strollers or items stored in strollers.

Manny Cantor Center members and guests are permitted to carry up to two medium sized bags inside Manny Cantor Center. Large containers, including bags, suitcases, or carts are not permitted.

Photo Release Policy for MCC Use

Manny Cantor Center or its agents may record and/or photograph programs and use such images for publicity at their discretion. Your attendance and/or participation is deemed your consent to appear in such programs, photographs, recordings, print, website, and social media without compensation or notification.

Class Schedules

Class schedules are subject to change based on registration. Please visit your program’s webpages for the most up-to-date version of the program schedule.

Pro-Rating for Late Starters

When space permits, we will pro-rate the number of classes remaining for some classes.

Transfer of Classes

Spaces for transfers are subject to availability.

Registration Class Refund & Credit Policy*

There are no refunds or credits issued for classes or workshops. There are no refunds issued when withdrawing from a class. Eligibility for program credit is determined by the director of that program. Class withdraw requests must be submitted in writing to the program director of the appropriate department.

*All fees for MCC programs are nonrefundable.

Manny Cantor Center is not responsible for providing makeup classes or issuing credits or refunds for programs missed as a result of client illness, scheduling conflicts, emergencies, or other events beyond our control. All MCC programs are subject to change or cancellation. We reserve the right to combine classes, or to cancel classes without makeup for situations beyond our control.

Animal Policy

In consideration of the health and wellness of our all of our members, and because food is served at many of our programs, our policy is to welcome licensed and trained working service animals only. We cannot accommodate any pets or comfort animals, and there are no exceptions.
