Mixed Media Art Classes in NYC

We are excited to offer unique classes in silk screen printing, printmaking, drawing, illustration, and collage. These courses allow students to bring creative ideas to life through various mediums. All courses are open to students of all levels and instructors will support students in completing unique projects throughout the term. One on one instruction, instructor demonstrations, and group lessons provide a supportive environment to learn new techniques, explore and experiment!

Block Printing II

In this course, students will learn about the range of tools, techniques, and materials involved in the relief printmaking process. Students will create prints from relief using either linoleum or wooden blocks. By the end of the course, students will have learned all the salient techniques necessary to transfer a drawing, cut, ink, and print from their own relief block! All students, from beginner to advanced, will create a unified edition of hand-pulled prints while learning each stage of this remarkable printmaking process!

Develop your creative style and vision through individualized, one-on-one instruction inside a group setting! In this workshop, students are introduced to the foundational elements of design and composition in a relaxed environment featuring expert instruction. Students will learn innovative applications for a diverse set of materials such as paper, ink, paint, photos, fixatives, fabrics, found objects, and more! Create unique pieces of art that will bolster your portfolios and liven up any space they’re displayed within. All participants are encouraged to come to class with materials that they would be excited to include in their collage, the studio will also provide an assortment of materials to incorporate. At the end of the workshop, students will have gained a better understanding of working conceptually to realize their vision of mixed media art, having learned important skills to build on their creative practice!

Participants will experiment with layering, texture, and color to create one-of-a-kind prints using water-based inks, stencils, and natural materials. This workshop is perfect for beginners and focuses on guiding students through each stage of the process to create vibrant, expressive monoprints.
