The Educational Alliance Art School at Manny Cantor Center offers mixed media art classes in NYC for adults who want to work across drawing, printmaking, collage, and silk-screen in a single studio practice. Our Lower East Side studios at 197 East Broadway give you room to experiment with materials and techniques without committing to a single discipline.
As a program of Educational Alliance—a Lower East Side nonprofit serving the community since 1889—we keep classes accessible and affordable, with beginner sessions available year-round and instructors who meet you wherever you are in your practice. Materials lists are provided per course; locker storage for in-progress work is included.

Printmaking Classes in NYC
Our printmaking classes introduce relief, monotype, and stencil techniques in a working studio, so you can pull your own editions and build a body of work. Whether you are new to printmaking or returning to sharpen your skills, the studio is equipped for hands-on learning in small groups with experienced instructors.
Printmaking pairs naturally with the rest of our mixed media curriculum—many students move between the press, the drawing table, and the collage bench across a single term. Our block printing and screen printing courses share the same studio community, so you can sample both before deciding where to focus.
Collage Classes in NYC
Collage classes at MCC teach composition, layering, and material exploration using paper, found objects, and mixed media. It is one of the most approachable entry points into visual art, and one of the most-searched topics among our students—so we give it a dedicated space in the studio.
You will learn to build images from fragments, work with adhesives and surfaces, and develop a personal visual language, all in our accessible Lower East Side studio at 197 East Broadway. Beginners are welcome; no prior art experience is required.
Screen Printing & Silk-Screen Classes in NYC
Our screen printing classes in NYC cover the full silk-screen process—preparing screens, burning stencils, registering layers, and printing on paper and fabric. You will leave with finished prints and the skills to set up a print at home or in a community studio.
Silk-screen is a favorite for students who love bold, graphic results, and it is a core part of our mixed media offering rather than a one-off. Sessions are taught by professional printmakers in small groups, giving you direct access to the instructor throughout each class.
