About the Book: The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry

When Cora Seaborne’s husband dies, she seeks refuge in coastal Essex. Once there, she hears of a mythical beast, the Essex Serpent. Cora works with the local vicar to discover the truth. The unlikely friendship that develops sets the stage for this sweeping 19th-century saga of competing belief systems.
