Members Studio Application

The Educational Alliance Art School's Ceramics Membership Studio offers a dynamic and supportive environment where experienced ceramic artists can develop their skills, create work independently, and engage with a thriving artistic community. Unlike other studios, our program is deeply embedded within the Manny Cantor Center (MCC) and the broader Educational Alliance Art School community, allowing members to participate in a rich array of community-driven events and exhibitions. Our membership program is designed to provide artists with flexibility, resources, and opportunities for growth while fostering a strong sense of community. To ensure that all members can work independently and safely in our studio, applicants must meet the following criteria: A minimum of 2 years of ceramics experience in a studio environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently, including knowledge of studio safety and etiquette. Portfolio review showcasing technical skills and craftsmanship.     Wheel Access, Equipment, and Open Studio Hours

    Members get wheel access on the Lower East Side along with dedicated hand-building space and full glaze facilities, including kilns for both bisque and glaze firing. Our ceramic open studio in NYC gives members independent time to throw, trim, and finish work at their own pace — no instruction, no scheduled class time, just the studio and your practice.

    Members Studio open hours:

    • Monday–Friday: 6:30 am – 8:30 pm
    • Saturday–Sunday: 9 am – 5:30 pm
