College Access & Success – College Prep Classes
We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to go to college
Our College & Career Readiness Program ensures that under-served students in Downtown Manhattan have the resources and support to access college and to succeed once they’re there. Many of our teens are the first in their families to go to college.
Edgies has made me a more motivated person…The staff encouraged me to find my “fit” college and they guided me through the confusing college application process. They took me on college trips and would stay with me till 7 or 8 at night working on my college essays and financial aid applications.

COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS:
- One-on-one and small group academic advisement
- SAT preparation course
- Workshops on college preparation topics including applications, identifying colleges that are a good fit, essays, financial aid, and scholarships
- College trips and visits from admissions officers to expose the teens to a broad range of colleges
- Access to mentors and tutors
- Early exposure to a variety of colleges through college visits, college fairs, visits from admissions officers, and panel discussions with recent college graduates
