John Andrews received a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. A Manhattan resident for the past 10 years, John has continued his passion for printmaking as an instructor, collaborative printer, and shop technician at NYC’s historic Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop. There, he continues to develop skills in lithography, etching, monotype, relief, Risograph, screen printing, and letterpress. He has a particular interest in creating works that are designed to repeat and can be printed on textiles to incorporate sewing applications for utilitarian purposes, and to take prints beyond the 2-d traditional style. The ability to make multiples of a work, especially with variances and the opportunity for experimentation, keeps printmaking, with its many processes and techniques, as the primary output for John’s creative endeavors.
