Save the date for our next book club in partnership with the Seward Park Library. We’ll be reading A Jewish Refugee in New York, a novel by Kadya Molodovsky. Copies of the book are available at SP Library, across from MCC.
About the Book:
Rivke Zilberg, a 20-year-old Jewish woman, arrives in New York after the Nazi invasion of Poland. As she struggles to adapt to a new language and life, she keeps a journal detailing her experiences. In this fictionalized journal first published in Yiddish, author Kadya Molodovsy provides insight into the immigrant Jewish community in New York, highlighting the social and cultural tensions faced by Jewish refugees during WWII.
