Dear Friends of Manny Cantor Center,
Like you, I am horrified by the recent attacks against Jewish communities in Brooklyn, Jersey City, and Monsey and the increase in hate crimes more generally. These are events that demand a response from all of us.
The best response, in my opinion, is the solidarity and visibility of those of us who insist on a different and better future. When we affirm the right for all of us – We the People, of diverse religions, races, cultures, identities, and national origins – to live safely as who we are, we create a new and more hopeful story. That story needs to be told and re-told in these difficult days.
Please join me on Sunday in the March Against Hate and Fear, sponsored by UJA Federation of New York, and many other groups. We will gather in the lobby of the Manny Cantor Center at 10am on Sunday and march together to Foley Square, where we will join a larger contingent of allies for a march across the Brooklyn Bridge to Cadman Plaza.
If you are able to join us on Sunday, please email [email protected] to let me know.
With prayers for peace and community –
Joanna
