Dear Friends of Manny Cantor Center,
Like you, I am horrified by the recent attacks against Jewish communities in Brooklyn, Jersey City, and Monsey and the increase in hate crimes more generally. These are events that demand a response from all of us.
The best response, in my opinion, is the solidarity and visibility of those of us who insist on a different and better future. When we affirm the right for all of us – We the People, of diverse religions, races, cultures, identities, and national origins – to live safely as who we are, we create a new and more hopeful story. That story needs to be told and re-told in these difficult days.
Please join me on Sunday in the March Against Hate and Fear
, sponsored by UJA Federation of New York
, and many other groups. We will gather in the lobby of the Manny Cantor Center at 10am on Sunday and march together to Foley Square, where we will join a larger contingent of allies for a march across the Brooklyn Bridge to Cadman Plaza.
With prayers for peace and community –
