Alex Pimienta has been involved in the art world for the past 25 years and holds a BFA and a MFA from the Pratt Institute. Originally a muralist while in school, Alex slowly began experimenting with work on a smaller scale. Today he is a painter, sculptor, and jeweler, but loves playing with new mediums. His inspiration is from the textures, rhythms, repetition, and organic forms that he sees in the world around him, which can be seen in the variety of styles in which he creates his art.
Alex has been involved with Educational Alliance’s Art School for many years and originally began working with us over 8 years ago as a teacher. He is excited to be teaching again with us and guiding students as they experiment with many different materials to help create functional object jewelry.
