Virtual Introduction to Acrylic Painting: Jodie Niss
Wednesdays, 6:30 – 8:00 pm:

Engage your inner artist as you cultivate your acrylic painting skills through this virtual course. Through class demonstrations and personalized instruction, students will learn the painting process so as to artfully depict a photograph of their choice or a still life setup. Tutorials teach beginners how to use a palette, various methods of paint application, basic color theory, how to mix paints, create texture, capture light, and render a strong composition. Perfect for newbies, but painters of any skill level are welcome to partake. Classes taught through Zoom.

Virtual Drawing: Beginner/Intermediate: Thomas Legaspi
Saturdays, 3:30 – 5:00 pm

Whether you are a beginner or a more experienced student, this virtual drawing course is for you. Come and explore techniques for drawing in pencil, charcoal and ink. Beginners focus on the basics and experienced students develop a greater mastery of their craft. Working from still lifes and photographs, all artists will practice the fundamentals including line, form, shape, value, tone, shading, composition and perspective. Fun exercises support the development of personal self-expression and style.

Virtual Watercolor Painting: Beginner/Intermediate: Jodie Niss
Mondays, 6:30 – 8:00 pm
· Session 1: 1/11 – 2/22 (no classes on 1/18 and 2/15 for holidays)
· Session 2: 3/1 – 3/29
This virtual course is designed for beginner and intermediate level painters. It will introduce new painters to watercolor painting techniques in a fun and easy way. For more experienced painters, it will take you to the next level in your practice. Classes will include demos on color and design, as well as wet-on-wet and dry-brush techniques. Learn how to maximize the potential of your paint, brushes and paper to create various types of watercolor paintings. Classes will focus on blending and mixing colors, painting texture, and using composition. Paint from still lifes and reference materials such as sketches, reproductions, and photos for inspiration.
