Jewish Education Project Visits Educational Alliance Preschool

In-Site-Ful Journeys, a project of the Jewish Education project, connects colleagues in ongoing learning through site visits to area schools, virtual learning opportunities, and community field trips.

They paid our Educational Alliance Preschool a visit on Monday, January 23, speaking with Jacqueline Marks, our Director and Louis Hamlyn-Harris our Associate Director about what makes the EA Preschool unique.

“Our center is founded on Jewish values and traditions. Teacher’s roles are to create an environment that is challenging, interesting and developmentally appropriate,” Jacqueline said.

In addition to interviewing Jacqueline and Louis, In-Site-Ful also published a detailed news post about their visit, focusing on three elements that stood out to the educators visiting the school, the calmness of play and interactions, the classroom set-up and environment, and the freedom of the children. Their post also includes takeaways and details from witnessing the Preschool’s child-centered teaching approach live.

“I really appreciated the aesthetics of the school. The nature art work, displays, physical layout of the room, and all the nooks and crannies for the children to find and be in,” said Stephanie Shapiro, from Agudath Israel Preschool, in Caldwell, New Jersey.
