Hilary Lorenz splits her time between New York and New Mexico. She makes large-scale installations of printed and cut paper that revolve around her physical exploration and relationship with the natural world. For the past seven years, Lorenz has traveled to New Mexico creating ambitious local and international projects that draw from her experience and infatuation with frontier living.
This summer she will be hiking the Chilkoot Trail between Alaska and British Columbia as the 2018 Yukon Arts Centre Chilkoot Trail Artist in Residence with Parks Canada. She was a Fulbright Scholar to Taiwan for printmaking and has been in residence in printshops throughout Europe, Asia and the US. Lorenz earned her MFA from the University of Iowa in Printmaking and Intermedia. She is a full professor at LIU-Brooklyn and has taught and lectured at numerous art schools.
